tmg-e*media Wins 2011 Stevie Award for Women in Business (video)

New York, NY – November 12, 2011 – tmg-e*Media won a Stevie Award for Smartphone or Tablet App of the Year in the 8th annual Stevie Awards for Women in Business.

The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, and the companies they run – worldwide.  The awards are one of four Stevie Awards programs, which have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards.  More than 300 nominees and their guests attended the awards dinner at New York’s Marriott Marquis Hotel.  The event benefitted Camfed (camfed.org), which fights poverty and HIV/AIDS in Africa by educating girls and empowering women to become leaders of change.

Anna Murray, principal of tmg-e*media, inc., and her team of consultants were recognized for their development of the Little Brownie Bakers mobile application. The Little Brownie Bakers app allows consumers to search for Girl Scout® Cookie sales. Users can type in their location using the phone’s GPS feature to view a list of upcoming Cookie Booth Sales, an activity organized by Girl Scout® troops and councils at local venues, such as a malls and supermarkets.

More than 1,300 entries – a record for the competition - were submitted this year for consideration in 75 categories, including Best Executive, Best Entrepreneur, Women Helping Women, and Communications Campaign of the Year.  Finalists in the competition were chosen by business professionals worldwide during preliminary judging.  Members of six final judging committees selected Stevie Award winners from among the Finalists during final judging.  More than 200 professionals worldwide participated in the judging process this year.
